We are a London-based group of flamenco dancers from Spain, France and Greece. Using our passion and expertise in heritage and history we aspire to create novel choreographic flamenco fusions that bring together different cultures from across the world.
Our performance workshop on “Flamenco and Byzantine dance” will demonstrate a novel choreographic fusion that mixes Seguidillas (one of the oldest forms of flamenco) with Byzantine dance movements.
Inspired by Felipe Pedrell, Manuel de Falla and Federico Garcia Lorca who first supported the theory that flamenco music has been influenced by the Byzantine ecclesiastical music, we embarked into an artistic and research journey to develop an innovative choreography.
Our choreography is accompanied by an engaging workshop illustrating the research and the steps of our journey.
