Eva Ribbing is an autodidact painter from Sweden. As a painter she has been focusing on oil paintings, using only the basic colours in the search for desired shades while lately taking interest in layering colours. She grew up in the cultural hotspot of Värmland, a county with a varied landscape where winters are cold and summers buzzing with life, in lakes and forests. Eva has been living in London for the last 12 years where she has been supporting herself as a teaching assistant and apart from painting has taken up contemporary dance. Being a reluctant traveller, she likes travelling through reading books but when going somewhere she prefers open nature, especially the seaside.
Dorota Kotowicz is a French teacher of Polish origin living in London. She has been enjoying painting and drawing since she can remember, drawing with children in mind. Acrylic and watercolour “patch paintings” started to emerge during the pandemics as a way to deal with solitude. The technic employed was similar to the one applied in a well know psychological test: making patches of ink or black acrylic paint on white canvas and watercolour paper, then filling them with colours and trying to find hidden images. The meaning came later.
For children’s drawings she uses a line in exactly the same way constructing image gradually from inside outside to see what emerged. In this way she never knew what was going to be represented. Dorota likes to invite whoever sees these little drawings to give them their own titles.
