Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is transformative, ancient art and science, which is perfect for dealing with the challenges of modern life. It is said to be yoga practice of house holders and yoga of awareness.
*breathing techniques called pranayama,
*specifically designed sets of dynamic postures/exercises named Kriyas,
*meditation – jaap and
*sound technology in form of mantras, as well as
*hands gestures that awaken the creative/healing energy flow called mudras,
kundalini yoga works to strengthen the central nervous system, the immune system and the endocrine system, builds stronger musculature and helps correct the posture. This brings the body back into balance and releases tensions, stresses and unhelpful patterns. It works fast and helps you feel strong in body and mind. It doesn’t require experience or flexibility and can be adapted to meet the needs of anyone. The main purpose for practicing Kundalini Yoga is to open the heart centre of humanity in every individual and conquer egoistic mind, which is the source of all of our “problems”/illusions.
All participants are welcome, including complete beginners. Come along and give it a go. Bring some water, yoga mat, any necessary preps and wear comfortable clothing. Some people wear white and cover their hair to enhance the power of infinite energy of your own soul that we evoke during the practice, but it is not a requirement. You may also want to bring a blanket to keep yourself warm during relaxation session, before the culmination of the class: the meditation.
About the instructor:
Avtar Adi Kaur started her Kundalini Yoga journey in 2017. She has completed her training and is working towards final Level 1 Certification. She is dedicated yoga practitioner, happy to share the energy with those who are open to receive it.
She started to practice yoga since she was 6 years old, even though back then in post-communist Poland, it was not officially called yoga. She was diagnosed with minor subluxation of vertebras in her spine, which could potentially lead to developing scoliosis, in a rapidly growing child’s body. However, due to excellent primary medical care, she was prescribed something called “correction exercises”. This was, in fact, practice of yoga, implemented outside of school hours by dedicated teachers. Hence, her spine is nice and straight and body flexible and awaken. In her adult life she practiced: Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Iyengar, and of course Hatha Yoga to name a few. She is infinitely blessed with flexibility of her mind, body and spirit, which will perhaps, challenge you in the most positive way: simply to become the best version of yourself. Allow yourself to receive the flow of infinite wisdom through the “vessel” and manifest your Destiny.
Avtar Adi is talented in multiple aspects of life: music, photography, dance, and healing, which for many years she pursued as a career in healthcare, as well as she loves and have solid scientific background.
