6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Come and explore Ekphrasis (writing inspired by objects of art), unusual and exciting love poetry, and a few unexpected great poems you’ll write yourself. There’s always something wonderful to find in any piece of writing, and when we find that beauty, the possibility of even greater writing is endless. Which has nothing to do with spelling or grammar.
The subject of our first, free taster session is:
Finding your voice as a writer. What is your voice? Do you have one? What colours and textures is it made from? Explore your own unique voice, and try on some new ones for size.
The sessions will be given by Merrie Williams, an experienced and awarded teacher-writer.
The thing she’s most proud of is the writing students create. Her classes promote confidence, exploring the centre of creative worlds, and freedom of self-expression. Most of all she loves to see writers improve. “A good creative writing class should help you to grow at your own pace, but you should always keep growing.”
