1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Come and explore Ekphrasis (writing inspired by objects of art), unusual and exciting love poetry, and a few unexpected great poems you’ll write yourself. There’s always something wonderful to find in any piece of writing, and when we find that beauty, the possibility of even greater writing is endless. Which has nothing to do with spelling or grammar.
The subject of our second, free taster session is:
Let Me Count the Ways. There are many ways to inspire and create wonderful writing. Collaboration, solitude, quietness, chatter, reading, discussing, or a mixture of these. Come and try them all, and see which ones work for you.
The sessions will be given by Merrie Williams, an experienced and awarded teacher-writer.
The thing she’s most proud of is the writing students create. Her classes promote confidence, exploring the centre of creative worlds, and freedom of self-expression. Most of all she loves to see writers improve. “A good creative writing class should help you to grow at your own pace, but you should always keep growing.”
